Playing Catch Up

I realized that I have a lot of updating to do.  We've been having so much fun that I haven't had time to blog about it!  I thought I would share some of my favorite pictures.

In December, Devan played a trio on the trombone with 2 of his friends for their concert.  They did a great job!

Devan has been blessed with fabulous teachers this year.  He has Mr. Jones as his teacher and Mr. Shroeder as his band teacher.

Spencer, 7, is getting more and more into Legos.  He likes them just as much as his older brother.

Pictures from the Satellite Media Blitz

At the end of January, I flew to North Carolina to do a Slide into Super Bowl Media Blitz which included 16 radio and television interviews in a 5 hour period of time.  It was intense and a lot of fun.

Our thoughts and prayers are with Congresswoman Giffords and all the families involved in today's tragic events

Today someone opened fire at an event held at a local Safeway grocery store where Congresswoman Giffords was meeting and greeting members of our community and listening to their concerns.  KVOA reports that nineteen people were injured.  Five people have died including a 9 year old girl and a federal judge.  Our hearts go out to those who have lost family members or have loved ones who are injured.

This senseless act of violence has shocked many of us in our community.  On Thursday, I went grocery shopping at the Safeway at Ina and Oracle where this occurred.  Things like this don't happen in Tucson.  They shouldn't happen anywhere in America.

Those of you who have followed me for a long time know that I wasn't the hugest supporter of Congresswoman Giffords.   I emailed her on various issue from health care to immigration.  She was always so respectful in her responses even when she disagreed with me.  I respected her endless efforts to serve the people of southern Arizona.

At times like these, we are drawn to our knees to plead for those who are injured and for their families.

Well on His Way to Earning His Eagle

Devan (12) loves Boy Scouts!  He worked hard last summer and early fall to earn 8 merit badges and his 2nd and 1st Class Ranks.  Just 16 more merit badges to go plus a huge Eagle project.  Keep it up, Devan!
